# Favorites

[Open your Favorites →](https://tracefast.xyz/favorites)

Keep the addresses, transactions and blocks you care about in one private list — and, from their tables, single events, calls and NFTs — and add your own notes and tags to them. Favorites belong to your TraceFast account. Sign in to use them, and they will be there on every device you sign in from.

## Save an item

Every [address](/explorer/entity), [transaction](/explorer/transactions) and [block](/explorer/blocks) page has a star in its header. On address pages it is the last item in the header row.

* **Save:** press the star. It fills in; hover over it to see "In your Favorites. Click to remove."
* **Remove:** press the star again. "Removed from Favorites" appears with **Undo** for a few seconds; Undo brings the item back exactly as it was — the date you first saved it, your note and your tags. Changed your mind a little later? Press the star again within 30 seconds of removing it and you get the same favorite back. After that, the star saves it as a new item, with today's date and no note or tags.
* **"Couldn't check your Favorites. Click to add.":** we could not reach your list just now. Pressing the star still saves the item.

**Not signed in?** Press the star and choose **Sign in and save**. After you sign in, you return to the page with the item already saved. If signing in takes longer than about 10 minutes, press the star again once you are back. New to TraceFast? Choose **Create account**, then come back and press the star. Signing in is covered in [Account & Security](/account-security).

## Save a row of a table

You can also save one row of a table: a single event, call or NFT. Every row in these tables has a star in a narrow first column, on the left:

![A token transfer on a transaction page, saved: the filled star in the narrow first column of its row](/screenshots/favorites-row-star.png)

* token and NFT transfers — on transaction, address and block pages, and in the Tokens list;
* the **Events** tab of a transaction;
* internal transactions — on address and block pages;
* the trace — each call in the call tree, and the call panel beside it;
* the transaction drawer of the live dashboard.

The star in the page header is unchanged: it saves the whole address, transaction or block.

**What is saved is the position, not a copy of what is there:**

* **An event** is that log of that transaction. Logs are counted from 0, so "log #7" is the eighth log.
* **A call** is that call's place in the transaction's call tree.
* **An NFT** is that token of its collection. A token id written in decimal or in hex is the same token.

Rows from the newest blocks show no star until the block is final.

**Not signed in?** It works as for the header star: press the row's star and choose **Sign in and save**. After you sign in, you return to the transaction page — not to the exact log or call — and the item is already saved. A call very deep in the trace cannot be carried through the sign-in: press its star again once you are back.

## Your Favorites list

Open **Favorites** from your account menu, below Settings and Security.

* **Tabs:** **All**, **Addresses**, **Contracts**, **Tokens**, **NFTs**, **Transactions**, **Events**, **Calls** and **Blocks**, each with its count. **Addresses** holds every address you saved; **Contracts** and **Tokens** narrow it down by the type you see on the address page.
* **Search:** it looks at names, types, your notes and tags, addresses, transaction hashes, block numbers and token ids, in decimal or in hex.
* **Sort:** **Recently added**, **Name** or **Type**.
* **Filter:** by one of your tags.
* **Each row** shows the item's name and type, the date you saved it, and your note and tags. Press the row's star (**Remove from Favorites**) to remove an item — Undo works here too — and the pencil (**Edit note and tags**) to change them.
* **At the top**, the list shows how many items you keep and how many your plan allows: "*N* of *M* saved". It counts every kind of favorite.

### Events, calls and NFTs in the list

* **An NFT** reads "#1234 of *collection*". The word beside it is **NFT**, **Multi-token item** (an ERC-1155 edition, which is not claimed to be unique) or **Token** (when the collection's kind is not known). The collection is a link; the token id is not, because there is no page for one token. The full id is in a tooltip and can be copied.
* **An event** reads "Log #*N* of transaction 0x…" and opens the transaction at that log. Under it you see what the log is — for a token transfer the amount, the token, from and to; otherwise who emitted it — then the block and its date. The word beside it is the event's name, such as **Transfer**, when the log was decoded. When several event signatures match, it reads "Transfer (1 of 3)". A log that was not decoded is just **Event**.
* **A call** reads "Call at depth *N* in transaction 0x…" and opens the trace at that call. Under it: the call type and from → to ("created *address*" for a contract creation); the method, with the same "1 of *N*" rule, or its selector when no name is known; the ETH sent, if any; "failed" if the call failed; and the block.
* **Amounts in the list are raw.** An event's amount shows as "raw *N*": the token's smallest units, not scaled by its decimals, because the list does not know them. One USDT, which has 6 decimals, appears as raw 1000000. The transaction page shows the same amount in token units.
* **"This transaction has no log #*N*."** (or "…no call at this position") appears only when TraceFast knows that the position is empty. While the details are still unknown, the list claims nothing.
* **"The details of *N* saved events and calls could not be read right now."** Your rows stay in the list; reload the page later.

## Notes and tags

Add a short note and a few tags to any favorite, to remember why you saved it or to group items for an investigation.

![A saved address: your tags and the note button beside the star, with the note and tags editor open](/screenshots/favorites-star.png)

* **Where to edit:** in the list (**Edit note and tags**), or on the item's own page with the note button next to the star.
* **Notes:** up to 280 characters. Line breaks are kept.
* **Tags:** up to 10 per item, each up to 32 characters.
  * Type a tag and press Enter or a comma.
  * Letter case does not matter, and tags are saved in lowercase: "Exchange" and "exchange" are the same tag.
* **Tags are your words, not TraceFast labels.** They show with a # and a dashed outline. A tag never replaces an address's name, is never marked as verified, and does not change the risk information we show. How TraceFast's own labels work is described in [Labels & Entities](/concepts/labels-and-entities).
* **Only you can see your notes and tags.** Links you copy from TraceFast never include them.
* **Invisible or formatting characters are not accepted,** for example a right-to-left override or a zero-width space. Such characters can make text read differently from what it really says, so the text is refused rather than silently changed. Remove them and save again. Emoji are fine, including combined ones like 👨‍💻.

## How many favorites you can keep

The number depends on your plan; each plan card on [Pricing](https://tracefast.xyz/pricing) shows it. Notes and tags work the same on every plan.

* **When your list is full**, the star tells you so and offers **See plans**. Remove an item to add another.
* **If you move to a plan with a smaller limit, nothing is deleted.** You keep everything you saved and can still edit notes and tags. You cannot add new items until your list is below the new limit.

## Privacy

* Your favorites, notes and tags are visible only to you. Other TraceFast users cannot see them, including someone who signs in on the same browser after you sign out.
* Notes are stored encrypted. Tags are not, so keep sensitive details in the note rather than in a tag.
* Links you share from TraceFast never carry your favorites, notes, tags or your search in the list. The position of a saved log or call is never put into the sign-in link either.
* Favorites are part of your account on the website. They are not available through the [API](/api).
